 Welcome Minimize

Welcome to AVanced.NET...I use this site to post news and communicate with customers, friends, and family.  If you see something you would like added, please let me know.

My background includes over 30 years of Software Engineering experience, including IBM Mainframe, Unix/Solaris, SAP, IDMS, Microsoft Office and .NET development.  Over the past few years, I have focused on the .NET development environment.  I participated in the early Microsoft .NET Beta Development program by visiting Microsoft's Labs and working closely with their Development Teams for the .NET 1.0 and Compact Framework early releases.   As a result of this effort, I got involved early in the DotNetNuke Open Source project and contributed a Calendar Componment for the project.  This module has since been picked up and included in the DNN Source Code as the "DNN Events Module".  For more information on this project, visit the DNN Events site...  Many thanks to those that have "picked up the ball" on this project!

Another, long time, interest of mine is playing and performing as a muscian in various groups.  I started by playing trumpet in high school symphonic, jazz, and marching bands...Later, I got an opportunity to play with a "Beach Music" band called Royal VII and make some money by performing.   This required me to dance and play at the same time...  When our guitar player's wife made him quit the group, I switch over to play Lead Guitar (guitar players do not have to dance and play *grin*).  I have been playing and performing for over 35 years and  have performed in various Theater groups, Concert venues, Clubs, and Private Parties.  Over the years, I've seen local music and venues slowly fade away...I'm not sure why.  But I ask that you please support local music venues, arts and musical programs!  We all need art and music...

Email me if you're interested in talking guitar or the music scene in Eastern Virgnia.  Check out my current group's web site: 151 Band
